Ron and Ken put a penny on the stovepipe while boiling on the Mason 2x4. Blower was set on low.

I have Bills 2x4 with blower and I installed a 2 speed switch on it. I can run it on low with no issues but if I was to leave it on high it will turn stove pipe cherry red and I think if I did not back it down the stove pipe would melt down.

I have the Harbor Freight router speed control that I usually run at half speed. I get my best boiling done with 1 1/4" depth and around 1150-1250F measured with a digital thermocouple at eye level. Much hotter and the first section of stack is glowing. A smaller fire with the blower is really working for me.

Hey! I have some of the new pennies that rusted so bad - It was hard to tell they were pennies. I wonder what kind of metal they make them from now? Not copper.
