I would like to add a blower to this setup. Any ideas on how to do this..

I was thinking I would add a tube through the back side, and cap it off on the end. And add maybe 3 sets of 1/4" holes spaced every 4" and then put Firebrick on each side of the pipe.

Also what CFM do I want to look for in a blower for this?

2 X 3?

I hooked up one of these: http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Detmar-Water-Resistant-3-Line-Blower&i=70749&r=view&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=googlebase&s_kwcid=googlepla&cvsfa=2587&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=3730373439&kpid=70749&gclid=CjwKEAjw876oBRCYr86w6KGfpkgSJAACIidw-L21VQgmE3BIbxbmzexSLMj6xJAQKTXILUamRbXeoBoCu1zw_wc B

to mine and really like what it does for my burn.

On mine, I have a 4" stove pipe entering the back, under the grates, extending to within 6" of the front and capped. I then have 3 rows of 5/16 holes, spaced every 6", 1 row top center and 1 row each facing each outer edge of the grates. It works very well, but I run it off my high pressure blower for my Air Over Fire too, with a valve to regulate the flow. With the HP blower ash doesn't seem to cover the pipe, with a lesser blower you might need to watch the ash more so it doesn't block the air flow.

On my 2x6 I picked up an old Beckett oil burner and took the oil pump, tansformer and other guts out of it leaving me with just the motor and fan. Once all the extras are removed I just used some sheet metal to cover the holes. Could have used duct tape. I Hooked it up to a 4" pipe through the back of the ash pit. Works great. One nice feature (besides being free) is that it comes with an adjustable air inlet.

Would this be to much CFM Looks like about 2800 on Low spd. I could throttle it down by restricting inlet.

What CFM is ideal?113771137811379

I'm not so good at metal working so I went to Sugarbush Supplies in Mason MI. Bought a sheet metal part for my 2 by 6. The part that attached to the back of the box is 2 inches by 18 inches. It is funneled down to 6 by 6 Think of how a stack is thin and wide and funnels up. Any way at the end the sheet metal is bent to form 2 channels. The body of the blower just slides in and out of the channels. Also have a rheostat to adjust the air flow. I really like it. Can turn it off to fire and then at about 3/4 the fire just roars and rumbles. One tip unless you like the no facial hair including eyelashes don't open that door with the blower on

I have a fan like that on mine hooked to a 2ft piece of 2" pipe with 3/8 holes drilled on 45 every 2 "and it works great

Had a little blower made for mine that inserted right in damper hole, have had much better luck with a 3 or 4 inch fan sitting in front of damper door on a 18x48 evap
