The Saving of a Sugarhouse

They just lost the woodshed is what I've heard so far.Amazing save as the wind was gusting 25+ mph. Boyden Bros. Sugarhouse Conway,Ma.

I hope the sugarhouse is able to be cleaned up and used this season. Good save by the fire department(s).

wow that was a good save i heard about a few hours ago via internet just saw the pictures now

They hope to be up and running again in a few days. I heard a spark got some grass going outside and the wind did the rest. Fortunately,as you can see in the photo, there is a wall between the wood shed and the room where the evaporator is, that made a huge difference.The sales area and maple kitchen are off to the right and look to be untouched.The RO room was outback last time I was there and probably is ok. Really nice people and famous for their candy and cream.

They are having a work be today, they did not lose any major equipment and will be able to boil next time it runs. Most of the wood in the woodshed was saved, a little charred but still able to burn. My heart sank when I heard the tone for it, especially when the reporting party was Howard. He held it inside with a garden hose till the FD got there. VERY LUCKY!!

In the back of our minds, we all worry about fire. Hopefully they can get up and running again.
