i have been reading a lot on this tubing forum about the 3/16 gravity system. I am planning it for next season and think i have the perfect set up. I have 60 trees on 80' drop over 300ft to collection tank. my question is, the trees that are 2&3 tappers do you bring each tap drop line down to the 3/16 lateral and put in 3 Ts for each drop line or do you combine the the 3 taps into 1 dropline and drop into the lateral with one T . combining all into 1 dropline has been my practice in the past using pass thru taps. probably not the correct way.

I believe the paper from UVM on 3/16 natural vacuum suggests only one tap per tree.

I would use 3 separate drops on a tree big enough. Maybe no more than 25 per lat. line.

I did just as you are thinking, I have some big maples 3' plus at chest hight, & I used 3 drops with three separate Tee's on trees that big. It works great, I had 20" of Vac yesterday and all my buckets were dry. I have one line with 35 taps on it & it runs great. But ideally I would probably try to stat around 20 maybe you could do 3, 20 tap runs?

We ran three two and three taps together into a y and then on one drop to the lateral. So far so good.
