Hi all maple heads this site is a great resource for collecting sap, syrup making..

I live in mid Michigan have 15 maples on my property I only tapped 6 of the tree's 2 spiels per tree in a weeks time I collected 22 gals of sap. This is the first time making syrup since I was a kid making it with my mother... I have a turkey fryer with the pan that comes with the fryer kit. Man did that take a long time to boil down too 1\2 gal of lovely syrup! I am hoping to get another 20-30 gals of sap.

So the addiction begins I plan on getting more taps, buckets, storage container and a proper pan for boiling..

Welcome! If that turkey fryer pan is aluminum you're gonna need to get a stainless steel one. Aluminum is not good if I remember right the sap will slowly eat holes in it...
