Hello everyone. Newbie here.....second year doing this. I built a really nice stove this year and I have two pans. 28.5 x 40 with a ball valve that runs into a 28.5 x 24 to finish it off. I have been using a ceramic insulation to fill the space between the two pans and it works very well but I am wondering if I could use a fiberglass gasket in it's place? Are there any opinions on this at all? Here is a picture...... (https://flic.kr/p/rG6C7b) You can see a quick video of link to my stove here. (https://youtu.be/qD03Twuf6F0)

Thanks for any insight you can offer.

Both work. The rope is stronger so it hold up better and can last for years, but it is also stiffer and may not conform as well so might leak a bit. Thin strips of ceramic seal better, but will probably not survive taking the pan off very many times.
