Keeping totes clean

I have a 300 gallon tote for sap storage. At the end of each year we clean it, dry it and put it away for storage. The last two years the tote has had some mold in it at the start of the new season. I bleach and wash it but would like to be able to keep it cleaner during storage. What is the best way to keep totes clean during the offseason?

Make sure its stored open not closed. And out of direct sunlight or moist conditions. Easier said than done with a container of that capacity though.
