Just wondering if anyone here is boiling on one this year. Wondering how their sap raidor I works? Or the new Maxi-Flame Evaporator.

Just got the new catalog last week. Looks like they are trying to get into higher efficiency arches.

I've been looking for feedback on their high efficiency stuff too.

I would like to know if anyone has one of their 2x4 Spitfires? Would be interested in comments on it.

I have seen before the youtube video that is on here of the sunrise 2x6 that I saw on another thread. That looked like a nice unit. I don't have enough taps or time to gather that many taps though. Boiling is the fun part and if I would go bigger there would be less of that. I would be able to keep up with the big runs at the end of the season but might be twiddling my thumbs for the weeks before that. That just opens up another can of worms.

We are boiling on a 2 x 6 JDL Extreme, very happy with how it works. We are boiling about 50gph with not completely dry wood(mix of wet and dry). They are advertised at 57 gph and I believe it with dry wood. This is our first year but we are very happy with the results. If (I mean when) we add more taps we will get the sap raider to go with it, 100gph would be nice. Good luck all with the rest of the season.

Wow those seem like good numbers to me. I wonder how the new high efficiency looking arch works. I would like to know if the wood consumption is similar to other brands

I think it has 16" flues so one reason why numbers are so high.

New to us this year is a 2x8 JDL Extreme with pre-heater and hood. It is the raised/drop flue combo, air tight arch, blower. The best I can get out of it so far is 78 gph with good dry wood and regulating the steam just right. I think Sunrise's specs. are for 80 gpm. Other than a couple minor things, we are pleased with it.

If you haven't see Sunrises equipment yet take a look. They are the up and coming maple manufacture that everyone will be copying soon. Their stuff is very, very nice in my opinion.

I bought a new reverse flow syrup pan from them this year and am really happy with it. Now that I'm used to it, I find I don't have to monitor it nearly as much as my old setup and the syrup comes off it much more predictably. I really like the float boxes. Easy to adjust and no hassles.
