I have a 4x40 stainless membrane housing with clamp on style end caps. Can someone confirm ports for me? On the feed side is it the centre or offset port you use? My supplier told me center port but been looking at photos of other RO's on here and it looks like it's the offset port. On discharge side I believe offset port is concentrate and center port is permeate? Can someone confirm this? Thanks!

Clinkis,

On the feed end plug the center hole and feed in the offset. you're correct on the outlet, permeate comes from center, concentrate from offset.

Best,

Shawn.

You can feed from either end... and remove permeate from either end. Center is always permeate. Outside is always feed at one end and concentrate at the other end.

Are you running it vertical or horizontal? If vertical, you want the permeate to come out the bottom center port and plug the top one. The feed needs to be at the bottom offset port and make sure the brine seal is at the bottom end as well. If you have the brine seal at the opposite end as the feed it is possible you'll have an airlock in the space between the outside of the membrane and the inside of the vessel.
