Do people tap Walnut trees for the sap and make syrup out of it? I thought Maples trees were the only ones with sugar in the sap at least 3%

Yes, tap it just like a maple. It has a rich buttery/nut flavor.

I have tapped some walnut trees this year and they are barely dripping. Maybe they will pick up soon so I can start boiling?
