I got to ask how many guys out there are using these for sap? I have been running one for 2 years now and it seems like no one even speaks of them.. I got about 250 taps and I am pulling anywhere from 21-23hg and the thing works like a champ! and still no releaser. I cant find any make model or tag other than its 1/3 hp.

I think there was a guy in Vermont that used to make these for maple sap. I remember seeing one about 25 years ago. That's a pretty good vacuum!

check ebay for used pumps... they are very expensive new!!!! they are great cause a lot of them come with variable controllers, and they do not need to be primed, and do not contact the sap. i've used them for brewing beer...

I haven't used vacuum on sap....yet, but I used to use one for work, it was an ISCO Discrete Water Sampler. It would draw water up a hill almost 12 feet, ran off a small battery pack which would last upwards of a week (timed sample cycles so about 4 hrs total run time in a day).
