Well I was able to trudge though 2 ft of snow to get in 320 taps in. Many of the trees have started leaking and tonight with a low pressure system coming in and warming temps it could be a sappy day tomorrow. Let the fun begin!

I'm ready - been out tapping the past few days and will finish up this weekend. I was hoping for more sap the past couple of days but I think the deep snow (it's about 27-30" still in my woods) that the roots are just too buried.

That sap will come though!

I collected yesterday and it was decent. awoke to many full buckets today.....here we go

I tapped last Friday and have 28~ taps in on 3/16 gravity tubing. I'm amazed at how well the 3/16th line is producing with the gravity vacuum. Approx 40 gal of sap came in 2 mediocre weather days. Yesterday was nice, got 30 gal sap in one day, I'm figuring today may produce another 40ish. I have another (22) 3/16 taps and 30 buckets I don't think i'll get around to installing as the first set is producing so well i might not be able to keep up with boiling....

I have been averaging 30 gallons a day since sunday on 50 taps. partial boiled 18 gallons last night and stored. will do same tonight.. my evaporator is doing 4 gallons an hour, 1st year for me having a blast..Sunday I bottled pint and a half..
