Just wanted to throw this question out there for you all. I have installed a new 3/16 tubing system with 161 taps and plenty of elevation drop before the laterals enter the main line, is a 275 gallon tote going to handle the sap from this set up??? I've read some articles lately that suggest 3/16 can produce 1 or 2 gal/tap/day or more. 2 gal/tap/day would have me overflowing.

Any info on daily sap yields for a similar tubing system would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and good luck to you all this year.

I had around 130 taps on 3/16 and there was a day I overflowed the 1 tank. I then daisychained 3 tanks together so this would not happen again. It really depends how fast your evaporation rate is and how often you can boil. My sap yield was over 28GPT and I did not have a full season on the set up.

If you have a head tank over 100G, can boil mid-week whenever it runs well and you're not boiling on a flat pan, then I think you'll be fine.
