Hello everyone,

I was wondering what the optimum spacing between the arch bricks and bottom of flat pan should be as it goes back towards chimney? Trying to get the gph as high as I can. Any help is appreciated

Thanks
Ryan

Hey stoked,
I have heard the recommendation that you should have the same volume, in square inches, as your stack has.

this site is full of great information but but you have to take your time and read a lot of the threads. From every thing I have read the closer to the pan the better, As long as you keep as much area under the width of the pan the same as the area of the stack so that draft doesn't become an issue. Give the pros some time and they will give their insight. Posting is going to slow down because it looks like mother nature us finally going to let the sugaring season start.
