Attaching a ball valve to a new pan.

I just had the local frabrication shop build me a new stainless pan. It has a threaded nipple on it, I have to screw the ball valve on it. Wondering what a should use for pipe dope. What could I use that could stand the heat and be food safe? Your help is appreciated.

Teflon tape made for stainless. It has nickel in it to prevent galling. I buy it from mcmaster.com

Just hand tight may work fine also. Any small drips usually seal in a little while.
