I have a 4048 hooked up to a 3/4 main that is 300 ft with 9 leader saddles. Im right at 100 taps 5/16 leader and lapiere seasonal. I have anywhere from 17 to 6 drops per lateral. Im getting 8 inches everywhere in the system. What is everyone on here getting? I added a drop about 30 mins after shutting pump off last night and there was plenty of vac still in the lines. What is the 4048 capable of?

Thanks

Matt

I am trying a 4008. I have it on 400' of 3/4" with 6 laterals coming off that and 40 taps. Two of the laterals are 5/16 and the others are 3/16. I have a vac gauge at the end of the 3/4 main line that was showing 10 inches this afternoon but it has read as high as 15. Not much of a run today as we have not had a good freeze in two days. I also have vac gauges on two of the 3/16 laterals and they are usually between 20 and 25 inches on a good sap run. It seems that the better the run the higher vacuum I get on the mainline gauge.

Got 24" last night on my 4008 setup, just 2 taps connected right now. It was only around 10" at first, then jumped up after a few minutes when the sap began flowing through the pump. This was the first time connecting up, and the test setup wasn't great, so I was happy to get anything reasonable. Will connect to a longer run and more taps this weekend.

I have three runs coming into manifold gauge is on the longest one about 500 ft of 5/16 line with 18 taps on that total 3 line have 38 taps. When sap was not running good get 8 to 10 inches when sap is running get 18-22 inches. I am sold on it. Yesterday no freeze but got to 67 degrees outside and it was pulling sap in, my other 75 bags had nothing.
