Clean out 7 gallon pails, not sure if good grade.

So I have a bunch of 7 gallon pails I thought of using for my drop lines, but I'm not sure if there food grade or if they can be cleaned out enough to use them for sap collection. They contained a bio degradable substance Eco friendly for helping to clear out a septic tank problem my folks had. My question is can they be used if cleaned well enough or don't bother?

For one thing, known food grade buckets are pretty cheap, maybe free for buckets from bakeries.

For another, at some point someone will ask you where you got the buckets. If you say it contained a septic system clearer it just has bad connotations.
