Fire Grate Stand?

Trying to finish off my new evaporator and wondering what everyone does to support their fire grates. I'm using catwalk grate beefed up with some channel so it doesn't warp. Can I just weld together some channel steel legs for the grate to rest on or do I need to weld it all together as one big unit. I would like to be able to remove it from the firebox for easier cleaning. I figured I would just set the legs down on the bottom firebrick. Thoughts, problems with this?

I built my grates out of 1/4" thick angle and have it resting on a brick ledge. Looks like you could do the same with yours. You could go with full brick and have a little wider spot to set it on.
