I'm looking for some advice on our RO.. We've used a Lapierre Junior RO 200 GPH now for 2 seasons, this will be our 3rd.
We've had a couple of issues over the last 2 years, a couple were user error (this was our first RO), but this issue seems to be the only outstanding issue and not related to user error.
If you look at the attached pictures, you'll notice the SS elbow flange doesn't sit flat on the nylon cap for the membrane housing.
80% of the time (when running the RO), it will slowly leak between the nylon cap and SS flange. It seems to leak more before the high pressure is running.
I does eventually stop leaking after anywhere from 1 to 6 of minutes, but it will easily soak a bath towel before it stops
I also noticed it leaking one other time. The pipe going to permeate tank was too low in the tank and once the RO stopped it started siphoning back into the machine (the machine wasn't running at all). The permeate was leaking between SS flat and the nylon cap. It would have leaked until the pipe in the tank ran out of water. Thankfully I noticed it before that happened.
So this season, we decided to pull it apart to try spare ourselves some frustration if/when winter lifts it grip on us. The o-rings look fine, not cracked or worn out, but the flange is definitely not sitting flat. It easily rocks even when the bolts are tightened. You can also see the bolts are almost pushing through the bottom of the nylon cap.
I'm wondering now if that flange is upside down. If it was cupped up, there would be more pressure on that top o-ring.
Anyone have some advice?
