Tapping in Durham, CT

After waiting patiently for Mother Nature to think about Spring, I installed 220 taps last Saturday and hope to install my last 280 taps today. We had a trickle of sap last Sunday but that was it. My new snow shoes have been a huge help navigating this years snow pack. Looking for our first run on Wednesday 3/5. Customers keep calling, but we don't have syrup to sell. Hoping (praying) for a great season.

I put in 50 taps today. First timer..boy was this exciting!..I noticed the smaller diameter trees 12-18 " caliper were flowing much better than the large. 22-32 inch caliper.
