Hi Guys & Gals,

I'm looking into possibly buying a steam pan for underneath our propane fired 16" x 16" flat filter/canner.
Do you think this would be a smart addition to help with filtering as well as canning?
I had an issue last year where the finished syrup was perfectly clear before I started bottling.
The canner had at least three, maybe four gallons in it and as I was halfway thru bottling the
syrup began to haze up! I'm assuming this would be because of heat variations and the syrup getting
too hot as the volume in the canner lowers? Will the steam pan help regulate this and keep temps
more consistent?

Also, are the propane burners that are sold for these canners better than an average turkey cooker burner?
Do they regulate temps a bit better?

Any of your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
