I have five gravity lines running into a tote. I want to pump 200-300 feet distance up about thirty feet height of hill.
The local hardware store has HDPE rolls of 100' for 17 dollars each. Is this black polyethylene tubing basically the same as mainline?
When I called maple guys yesterday they suggested I could source PVC black tubing locally maybe for less than mainline.

What are folks using on here for similar connectons?
Straight shot uphill with a 1" transfer pump.
Thanks

We use a 1 1/2 pump, with a coupler necked down to 3/4" and push about 150 gallons at a crack over 400 feet; same incline as yourself.
Use to use 1/2 poly pipe, but the 3/4 is so much more volume and saves time.
The poly we use has a white line on it- food grade they tell us.

Using the black poly pipe is fine as long as it says NSF-PW on it. That means that it is safe for potable water. Bigger is better for the pump line. I used to use a 1" pipe and changed that up to an 1 1/4" pipe. I pump sap 1500' up about a 25 foot elevation change. I used to use a 1" pump but now use a 2" pump. It takes about 15 mins to pump 100 gallons now where it used to take a 1/2 hour.

We use a 1in pump on about 900 ft of 1in poly, definitely the bigger the faster. Also one thing that makes a diff is the head pressure of the pump.
