First year I used a 2x2 pan on the top of cinder blocks and boiled 6 gallons an hour with forty taps and made 9 gallons of syrup. This year doubling the taps and making my own 2x4 evaporator. The pans are still being made yet (cutting it a little close). The back pan is 2x3 and the finishing pan is 1x3 both with dividers. Thanks to DaveB's autodraw post still trying to get that together yet. Here's a few pics from start to finish minus the fire brick in the firebox, going in this weekend.

That's really making syrup from scratch. It turned out great. Congrats! Let us know how the test drive goes with pics of your pans, please...

Nice! Cutting it close I call that and that's me working better under pressure!! That's how I get most done because there's always something else to do on the farm. So if it's needed now it gets done.

Looks real nice. I like your stack design. I may borrow that idea if I ever decide to go bigger.

Thanks for your comments. Got bad news, the pans won't be ready for two more weeks, the guy making them is a stainless welder (obviously) but he has to go to Ohio for work another week

Got the pan just in time. I think he did a really good job. Ready to start cooking hopefully this week
