So I picked up a new cage tank today. Thought I would be all set with fittings since I bought extras the last time I bought a tank. Nope! Last tank had what I call 2 inch buttress thread. This has more like 4 inch buttress thread. Any idea where I can get one of these to NPT? 2 inch is readily available.
Thanks

I talked to global and those are the 2 inch. They don't have 4 inch.

I am pretty sure they are 3" buttress threads

Their search engine isn't the greatest. Keep trying, I know they have them. I searched "ibc buttress 2" npt" and got this: http://www.globalindustrial.com/searchResult?searchBox=&q=ibc+buttress+2%22+npt

This is what it measures with a tape. Not sure what it is considered.

Is it the outlet of the valve you want to connect to? or is that the side of the valve in the picture that goes to the tank outlet?

Looking for something to thread on to the valve. The pictures are of the cap that goes onto the valve. The inside of the cap threads measures about 3 3/4.

Ok couldn't tell in the pic what exactly it was but it looked like an internal thread so was a bit confused. I would say that's a 3 inch buttress thread as it goes by inside diameter so naturaly 3 inch pipe is like 3 1/2 od of a bit bigger

Excellent! That makes sense. And looks like global has them.
Thank you all!

Good luck! cage tanks are funny things for outlet valves, not sure why no one standardized it early on but it is what it is

I just bought those fittings from global supply and they are a butress thread S100. I reduced from a S100 to S60 so i could go from S60 to 2" coupler. this was a real pain and kind of expensive about $25 per tote, but that all the cost of having fun. Hope this helps!
