have a few holes drilled, will begin in earnest this weekend. Tough going in the woods - hard to get motivated with the weather like it is but need to start sometime!

We've been in the woods on and off for the last month. Everything is ready to go. Have been keeping an eye on the extended forecast, and next week looked half way decent.......until I checked this morning. All the temps dropped across the board. By the looks of Accu weather, we'll be lucky to get a steady flow during the 3rd week of March. I'm tapping this weekend, and crossing my fingers that mother nature doesn't look at extended forecasts!!

Tapped this weekend with 3 feet of snow. Got most of them in, but it was even very hard with snowshoes on, to walk to the trees. Even wasted a lot of time digging out holes to sit my 5gal jugs in next to each tree. My to little guys were to sick to come out and help, but they are looking forward to collect the sap! Now the waiting game

Yeah it is slow going when your working on snow shoes. I got all my taps on tubing done on Saturday and all my evaporator dug out and trails beat down just to get another 10" of snow yesterday. I will be putting out all my buckets this weekend, hopefully the snow settles a little bit. The snow is still powder and the snowshoes sink in pretty deep.

OK runs this week, about 600 gal sap/day off 850 taps or so....should let go today. 75 gallons finished to date. Last batch last night was Golden. Happy for my river valley / east facing slopes this year!

Got about 35 taps out and only got 45 gals of sap since last Friday 3/27 I was hoping for more with that little warm up. Had some dripping yesterday. Don't know about this week. Just feels good to boil down anyway, I cant complain

I'am going to collect I think, one more time tomorrow. Hopefully my jugs have sap in them. Going by the extended forecast it looks like its going to warm up. I think I'll be pulling my taps this weekend! Does any one else have the same idea of pulling taps, because of the warm weather coming up?
