With the new install of our 2 x 6 Smoky Lake (Badgerland) drop flue I am anticipating the need for some kind of a hood.
Being that we spent plenty on the evaporator I reverted back to being resourceful and found a used stainless CATI commercial hood destined for the scrap.
This is a LARGE hood measuring 42 x 72 x 30 deep. (hey it was 40 bucks and a case of beer)
I plan on venting with a 12" round off the top.
NOW,............plans are to mount about 6'6" above the pans so I can see get in if needed, etc.
Is this too far above?
The first time I would bang my head,.............things would need to change.
Thoughts/comments appreciated.
