I may be missing something, but....

I am planning on drawing off a 2X6 into an 8 quart Orlon cone filter, with prefilters.

For finishing, I am using a 3 quart synthetic, but all the pre filters I see are 8 quart. Even Leader's website says "For 5 and 8 qt cone filters".
Do I just trim the 8 quart filters?

Is somewhere I can get smaller pre-filters?
What am I missing?

Thanks for the help!

I don't believe they make smaller ones. It wouldn't be any trouble to trim them. Although the extra length makes it handy to pull dirty ones without getting burned.

Thanks.
I'll trim to fit and leave some exposed to use as 'handles".

I always left them long...I always rolled the from top to bottom to force the syrup thru when they got plugged a little. I have a press but swill trying to figure a great way to prefilters just to make the press filters last longer. Presses are great til it is time to change the papers and clean them up.
