I am starting into the world of vacuum this year. I was understanding that I should use check valves on my taps. It seemed simple; buy check valve adapters and install them on the taps. Now I have 150 Leader LACVADAP adapters and have no clue how they install or if I'm totally mis-applying them. The back side does not fit my tap or 5/16 tubing.

I hope you are using stubbies for taps.

The back side does not fit my tap or 5/16 tubing.

The Check-valve adapter style is made to be used with a Stubby. The taphole is drilled, inserted, and tapped into the tree. The dropline with the stubby on the end is then attached and lightly tapped onto the adapter.

The adapters will work with an Lamb or US Maple 7/16" spout and seal under vacuum.

OK, thanks. Now I have 150 adapters to hopefully return. Do they make an adapter for a standard 5/16 tap?

just cut off the 5/16 spouts, and when returning the cv adapters, replace with cv2 seasonal spout

Actually, if the system is brand new, you could just use the clear spouts without check valves. You'll not be needing to prevent prior year's contamination yet. But the cv will save you a little sap from being pulled back into the tree during each freeze up. But I am a firm believer in using cv's in my bush.

Where do you buy CV2's?

From Leader Evaporator Co. or one of their distributors.
