Greetings. I hope some of you can help with a question.

I'm putting the finishing touches on my shack -- 12 x 16. I've a 2 x 4 evaporator. But where to put the stack?

It seems to me I've three options. 1. Straight up, through the metal roofing. 2. Up a ways, maybe 5 feet, take a turn out the wall, then another turn upwards. 3. Straight out the wall then turn upwards.

I gave the guy who build the evaporator and he suggested #3. Put the evap a foot or so from the wall, use thin metal on the wall, cut a hole, head straight through, then turn upward. It seems easy. BUT, I've not seen too many that don't go up through the root.

Thanks for your help. I really want to get this right.

I'd go straight up through the roof if at all possible. The less bends (90 degree elbows ) the better for draft. The better the draft, the hotter the fire, the hotter the fire, the more GPH evaporated

Absolutely go straight up, thru the roof for any evaporator. It just performs better that way.
