AUF blower on a barrel evaporator?

Has anybody tried an AUF blower on a barrel evaporator? Any ideas on bulkhead hardware to add a discharge valve to steam pans? I'm thinking about trying to mount the pans so just the bottoms are exposed to the flame, avoiding the "side burns" ha ha...

Last year on my old setup I added a blower into the 2 inch bung hole under the door. I built a grate and blew the air into it under the wood.
I made a huge difference in the boil.
The bad part is it created so much heat the drum and the angle reinforcements to hold the pan all warped and drooped creating leaks where the pan sat.
I am a big fan of the ceramic blanket and fire brick now.
