I am in the process of building an oil drum arch and I cut the whole top off the drum for a little longer pan. I have been looking for ideas how to run the stack out the back of the drum. Was thinking of using a 4x12x8" furnace duct boot, do you think this opening is big enough or do I need a bigger opening. Does anyone have any pics of what they did or have a good idea here, planning on a 12' stack but just can't find any good pics or videos online of stacks out the back of these drums. Thanks in advance I have really learned a ton from this site in the last 2 years.

The furnace duct boot might only hold up for a season or two if that. Its usually 26 or 30 gauge.

This round pipe should work.

10622Here's how I went about it. It was a bit of work to do, but it works great!
