I am in the process of adapting my rig from last year. Last years rig appears with the small flat pan on the front of the burner. I added to the fire box put grates in the bottom and will add a blower to add air from under the fire. the pan is 30" by 48" with 7 " dropped flues. I am insulating the fire box with ceramic board and fire brick and the rest will be insulated with blanket. I will finish the stack to come off right behind the pan this week. I am going to use a 8" stack 10 feet high. Is there any thing that says this wont work

Do you have a flat/syrup pan connected to the flue pan? Using a float?

I will use a flat pan for the syrup were it was last year. I have a valve put into my flue pan and will have to control the flow manually until I can figure out how to rig up a float pan. I will have to monitor that as I boil.
