After reading so many posts from others and going through it myself, I had a thought.

Is there a product like large tinfoil sheets or something safe for boiling in, available ?

What is the thinnest stainless steel sheets available?

If there is/was, anyone with mild steel pans could line their pan with it and boil away, just be careful not to tear it when stirring if the liner is super light weight.

I still have an old mild steel pan (2x3) and would use it if I could find a liner.

Does anyone know something/product out there that I don't know about?

Thanks.

Terry

I'm not sure a liner would work. The sap in your pan keeps the pan from burning/warping. It seems like the foil would need to be plated to the larger pan.

Any ways, above link is for stainless steel foil. For information only. Good luck!

Liner would have to be stuck to the pan. Any air gap would be a problem transferring heat. Interesting concept. cost may be the same as getting a stainless pan???
