Copper pipe flux

What kind of flux would you use to make a copper pipe preheater? Do you have to somehow flush the pipe out after it is made so that the flux does not contaminate the sap, or does that not affect it?

It don't seem to effect potable water line too much. I would flush it with clear water to be on the safe side.

I'd just run boiling hot water through it that should flush it out

Like they said. Use leadfree flux and solder, then flush it good with HOT water. You will be good to go.
