I've been thinking about getting my own private label jugs for a few years now. Today, I decided to make the move for the 2016 season. Since I have a large inventory of pint jugs, I'll just get screens made for qt, 1/2 gal and gal at this time. Then this summer/early fall, I'll have the jugs printed to be ready for next year. When I use up my pints, I'll have that screen made. I no longer do sizes less than pints in jugs.
When I got the prices from Hillside it turned out to be less than expected, thus I decided it's time to act.

Exciting new step. Hope you have a great season and need the pints sooner than expected.

Got my own done 2 yrs ago, great people to work with and whats nice is you don't need a minimun order, need 1 cs ,they will do it and in a very timely manner.I ordered my supply for the yr jan 9th and they said they would be done in 30 days, called already to say there done, ready to do a road trip{3hrs} to Mass. to get them.
How much does the custom jugs cost per case?

The idea had floated around in my head but I thought there was a minimum order of cases and higher cost per container. It would be nice if it's affordable.

I toyed around with this idea for a few years but since they are so far away, I decided against it. I am now a Sugarhill dealer and carry WV State Jugs.

The jugs are cheaper than buying from a dealer, after the screens are made. If a screen ever needs replacing, it is at no cost to you. As an example, gal (24) in 1 color 49.27, 2 color 51.67 and 3 color 54.07.
Art work and screens are :
1 size 1 color 350, 2 color 500, 3 color 625
2 sizes 1 color 495, 2 color 750, 3 color 980.
3 sizes 1 color 640, 2 color 1000, 3 color 1690. The chart goes to 6 sizes I think, if all using the same design, but sized for the jug being printed.
If anyone wants the rest, PM me with your email, or better yet ask Hillside plastics, Bill Hammer.
I was told it is too late to get them for the 2015 season, I'm looking at late summer to early fall for getting my first order.

Those aren't bad prices at all.

Hillside Plastics said the artwork designer is a few weeks out, then once a proof is accepted the screens are made, one for each color. Then ordering only takes 3-6 weeks depending on timing and orders ahead of yours. My plan is to give the word (and $) to make the screens about Aug 1 and then order the jugs about Oct 1. They don't need any $ until you are ready for the screens to be made. I didn't get prices from Bacon or others, I prefer the Sugar hill jugs by Hillside Plastics.

I'm only 15 minutes away from Hillside. I've been using there jugs forever and have no complaints. They send me a letter in the late spring to announce their price increases if there is any and you can place an order before May 1st to avoid price increase and then pick up at a later time in the summer

Is the print on the jugs itself or is this a sticker label that wraps around the jug? I am seeing both kinds at our local stores.

Should be on the jug itself. I think the sticker labels are done by someone other than sugar hill and they put those on blank sugarhill jugs.

Would I have to drive down to Mass to pick up my jugs or would I pick them up from a local dealer in my area?

Spud,
I think you would have to pick them up yourself or Sugarhill will freight them to you via UPS or on a pallet if you get a full pallet. I had 2 pallets shipped down to me via tractor trailer freight which is what they use if a full pallet.. The stickers I was referring to are put on the jug by the producer or the wholesaler, I don't think sugarhill is going to put any stickers on their jugs for anyone, but I could be wrong, they may put them on for a fee.

Brandon is correct, either go pick them up or they ship freight for large orders and UPS on small orders.
I plan to order a whole year's worth at a time and for me a trip will be about 3.5 hrs 1 way. If I get caught and need to place a smaller order I will likely get that shipped UPS. Rather than take the truck, I can even fold the seats down in my Prius and fit 6 or 7 cases of jugs, 1 in the passenger seast too if needed. The truck can carry more than a 2 yr. supply easily at my current usage rate.
Thanks for the information guys. I think we will start the process after the season is over and be ready for the next season.
