What size tubing works on a rule pump with a 1-1/8' outlet? Can you squeeze1" on there? What do others use?
Thanks in advance.

What pump are you using? Are you sure it is 1-1/8" and not 1"?

Try this link below. I use this on my 1" pump both for suction and discharge. I would think that if the end of the hose is dipped in hot water it would stretch over a 1 1/8" connection.
Like BAP said check the specs on your pump.

I didn't buy a pump yet, but the rules I've been looking at on ebay are 1-1/8.

I think I used 1-1/4?? Been a couple years. If you can get the 1 inch to work try that easier to handle.

I bought my rule pump off amazon and it also listed hose for it. I bought it the same time. I can't remember how much it all was but it was the cheapest place at the time.

I just bought the Rule 2000' and I'm having the same problem. The outlet is definitely 1 1/8" o.d and 7/8" i.d. I'm trying to get it to match up to 20' of 1 1/4" pool hose and it hasn't been easy to find an adapter/reducer.

I have the 1" food/beverage hose from US Plastics, too. With heat and a lot of shoving I can just get that on the pump. The hose started to split at the end, but if I can get it started and get a clamp on I might be ok. I can use a 1" elbow, cam lock fitting, and check valve from there.

Then there is the issue of adapting it to the 1 1/4" hose. I found a 1" to 1 1/4" barbed adapter on line, but I'm not sure how the barbed end will work in the pool hose fitting. It has a little flex to it, so it might work if I clamp it tight enough.

That's where I'm at. I feel like I'm using lots of fittings where it would be nice to have one. If anyone has a simpler way to make this work, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Try a Fernco fitting

Yeah, that one's on the list too. I forgot to mention it. Those only work with rigid pipe at both ends, right?

Should clamp around the end of the hose, if not maybe a male npt end of a insert adapter or hose adapter. Your not talking much pressure.

Look for bilge pump hose kit.

I used a fernco and then a 1" threaded elbow and then you can use a cam loc (banjo)type fitting so you can easily remove your hose and use it elsewhere if needed. Mine wasn't a Rule but they should be same.
