Just got the roof jack screwed down on the roof. Its going down over shingles. My problem is the roof cement isn't adhering very well to the stainless. Good on the shingles but doesn't want to stick very well. Don't know if its to cold or not really meant to go on roof jack. Any advice would be appreciated.

Try using 100% silicone on a dry day.

Technically, you wouldn't even need roof cement if installed properly. Above the centerline the shingles lap over the jack, and below centerline the jack lays on the roof. Water will always shed to the surface when flowing down the roof that way. Not sure if this is the way you are doing it or not?

Its a peak roof jack so that it overlaps all shingle.

Ooops. Disregard what I said then :)
I wonder if some butyl tape like what is used on steel roofing seals would make a good seal on shingles as well?

I haven't found anything that a product called "Through The Roof" wouldn't seal, it comes in either caulk tubes or by the gallon.

You lap the sides and the ridgeline with the shingles. No glue..goop..silicone needed.
