Has anyone used Rouxl insulation bats in the arch under the raised flue pan . I can't seem to find vermiculite here in canada .
Thank you

I checked out the Rouxl line when insulating the arch. I liked what I saw and think it could easily be used in sugaring rigs. It was a little thick for my needs. Of course, I ended up using a ceramic blanket over vermiculite. But, I think the Rouxl high heat product would be great too.
Try Vermiculite at a garden or hardware center. I would be surprised if it wasn't around somewhere.
I wanted to use the Rouxl behind the bricks and all over as it looks like it is safer to work with in comparison to ceramic fiber.
I think Rouxl should consider making a product for sugaring. They have everything needed to make a safe, high heat insulation that can be cut to fit any arch.

Reach out to this place and ask them for vermiculite.

Is this the correct blanket to use when insulating an arch?

Yes, that will work on the ramp, under flues and in the firebox, however in the firebox if wood fired you need firebrick protecting the insulation from physical damage and under the flues you need either half bricks or refractory to protect from cleaning brush damage. If you use dry refractory on top of the insulation, just spray a light mist of water on it several times and then fire the arch slow to cure it.
