utility sink/wash tub

Thinking about adding a sink to my sugarshack. Do I do a cheap plastic wash tub from a big box store or find a stainless food prep sink used. I have a stainless prep table I found on Craigslist cheap and it is easy to clean. I dont have running running water but plan on using permeate from my homemade ro. I can even heat the water on my propane stove I use to finish sap on. I woyld like to hve it to wash item and even sap pails at the end of the season. I will just let the water run out the back of the shack.through a hose. Thoughts?

I found a large two bay dairy sink online for 100 bucks shipped. It is two compartment and they each hold around 25 gallons.

I bought this at a schoolhouse auction. It was in the cafeteria. The best $375.00 I ever spent. One wall of the sugarhouse was built with the posts spaced to accommodate this. It really works well and we use it for canning in the summer also.10364

i got a nice 2 bowl 6 ft long sink on craigslist for a $100. we also just run the grey water out the back of the shack...

I found an old dairy/milkhouse sink at the scrapyard and it is perfect for the sugarhouse. The deep round trough shaped bowls are the best for washing up sap buckets, five gallon pails, and all that stuff that doesn't fit in a kitchen style sink.

The stainless sink would be a better investment, Easy to clean/sanitize and it will last a lifetime. Also if you plan to run the water out the back of the sugar shack, just make sure you dig a good size hole where the water will drain, then fill it with gravel for drainage. This will help prevent you from flooding out or eroding that area if the ground is already soaked and wont absorb your drain water.. Just something i learned after making a similar sink set up. I have one very similar to flhr10. It came with my 3x8 evaporator. I think I pd. $100 for it. I won't use it until I build my addition that I really need.

I also have a ray g. 250 gas ro. thinking of going elec, is that a 220 or 110 elec. ?

We found this one on Craig's List for about $150. It was at a restaurant supply warehouse. It cleaned up really good. The drain goes through the wall and on to a large flat rock that's tilted away from the sap house.10367
