View Full Version : Does AOF improve GPH or reduce the amount of wood you use?

Was just wondering if the boiling rate is increased by the gasification over the regular AUF? I know that AOF reduces the wood comsumption by up to 30% but I didnt know if the GPH increases if you already have AUF.

add two 3x6" tubes down side of arch and buy a HP blower.

AOF does both. When I added mine my boil rate jumped about 20-25% and my wood consumption dropped to about 2/3.

can you use the same blower and just elbow off from the plenum for aof, or do you need a second blower? also what size holes should be in the pipes and how many ? I am throwing around the idea of trying aof, and looking for ideas/advice.

My AOF and AUF both run off the same HP blower. You will need valves on each leg to get the right balance of air to each. Mine starts with a 4" supply line that splits into 2 lines, 3" each. Then each has a 3" ball valve. On the AUF the valve is only open about 25%, on the AOF the valve is open about 2/3. Once I got the balance where it seemed right, I have not changed them again. They have been that way for several years.
