I can't get a Deer Run in time for the season. I've been searching on here for a (reasonable) 250 GPH RO. Waterguys seem to be in the ballpark price wise but any posts on them seem to be at least 2 or 3 seasons old. Does any one have any recent feedback? Thanks in advance.

They work... just no recirculation. But no need for a wash tank heater as they use multistage pumps. They also originally shipped with nf270 membranes, which flow faster than xle but will pass sugar @ high concentration (10% +). Support on them doesn't really exist. But they are the same as all the homebuilt that are on here with the exception of the pump (which is a goulds ) and they are already assembled on a frame. Depending on the pump size... you can configure to run 120v or 240v. Larger pumps are probably 240 only.
Very small footprint and there are usually some cheep used ones available from people upgrading to 600 gpm machines.

If it fits the wallet and the need, no reason not to buy it.

Ran one last year and it worked great. Doesn't have the bells and whistles but it concentrates sap and that is what matters. Price is right and they are easy to use and move.

I run 2 of them (1-2 membrane 1-3 membrane 800 total taps) to concentrate sap to 10-12%.
The key for me is to batch process at low (150) pressure and recirculate until the permeate flow almost stops.
Then, transfer concentrate to the Evaporator tank, Repeat process. The next batch of fresh sap will rinse the membrane.
I have only had to wash at end of day since I began this practice.
I think they are a good value. Love the speed of the nf-270, but have settled on the XLE's.

68bird,
I saw a Deer Run 250 G.P.H in the Maple News used one season you might want to call about. It says contact John @ 618-571-4019 asking $3400.

Can anyone tell me what size the plumbing is used on this size machine? Thinking it may be 1/2 0r 3/4 high pressure hose to each of the vessels

And the gpm necessary to run 2 4x40 membranes?

Assuming the membranes are plumbed in parallel you need about 3-5 GPM of circulation per membrane. You may be able to get by with a little less, but I wouldn't go below 2 GPM per membrane. Three GPM would be 180 GPH, five GPM would be 300 GPH. Use the same hose size as the fittings on the housing.
