I have a used lapierre arch and the whole thing is lined with 1" of ceramic blanket insulation. I purchased some arch board this weekend and A roll of ceramic blanket, I was originally thinking I would just lay the board right over the blanket in the firebox and put the blanket insulation from the top of the ramp to the base stack. Does anyone have any experience laying board over blanket and bricking? I am somewhat concerned that maybe the blanket insulation will flex and cause the arch board to crumble behind my fire bricks. The existing blanket is glued on with some type of epoxy so I would rather not remove it if I don't have to, my goal is to end up with about 3" of insulation on the entire arch. Thanks Nate
