Has any evaporator manufactures ever look into putting dividers in in the cross fashion vs the long way in a flue pan? My thinking is if you would install dividers ever 2 foot in an 8 foot pan but have the flues open so the sap gets moves through the flues vs. a hole in the dividers like in your syrup pans, this way the more concentrated sap sinks into the flues and gets pushed forward into the next section of pan. Or is there a reason no one has attempted this setup?

If you boil with a flue pan , you will know that nothing sinks.. it is drawn down by the explosion of oxygen and hydrogen transforming from a liquid into a gas and escaping to the surface with such violance that it will send sap shooting into the air 6"+. Now if you only like to simmer your flue pan.. than maybe the more concentrated sap will sink.
