40 gallon SS barrel to trade at Verona

Won a 40 gallon Kaplan stainless barrel at Verona two years ago and it is too big for our operation. Never been used. Looking to trade for smaller bulk vessel(s). Must be stainless. Will be at Verona again this year, let me know if your interested

What sizes are you looking for? I have and use some 40's and they work good on the filling end, but I don't generally like packing 40 gal at a time when bottling. As such I'm getting more 30's. While my sales are fairly good I find that bottling 40 gal in the same grade leaves me with too many of each size on my shelves and that leads to old stock at times. In fact, I'd use all 16's but the cost of barrels is then far higher on a per gallon basis (that's the only reason I have any 40's)

Dave- same way I feel with 40s. Just a little too big. 15/16 is ideal for my operation both filling and rebottling but would consider anything 5-20 gallon.

Since I have a 2x6 finisher a 40 is OK but on repacking is where I have the issue. My retail sales are not strong enough to empty a 40 in one grade. I have packed a 16 from the 40 and put the rest into jugs/bottles but even that is not ideal for my retail sales level. Then since I heated the 16 gal an extra time, I sometimes get a darker grade when I repack the 16 to jugs.

I would do the swap but I'm no where near NH. Just made the offer because it looked like we were only a couple hours apart.
