Does anyone who is venting their steam from a steam hood into the cupola, have a good pulley system for lifting the steam hood or hoods that they wouldn't mind taking a picture off and sharing the picture and a brief description?
Thanks in advance.

Maple Flats gave some good tips on mine. Here's a couple of pics.10135

Mine is slightly more complicated, but it works real well. From each corner of the flues pan hood I have a pulley directly above it on the ceiling, as well as the 2 front corners of the attached syrup pan hood. Then each goes thru pulleys so that all 6 are pulled at the same time by cranking on a small boat winch. For the steam stacks (2@ x15" each) they are 15" at the hood, up about 5'. Then I have a 13" suspended from in the cupola so it runs inside the 15" ones below. This gives it the telescoping I wanted. My steam stacks then go up into the cupola so that the open section under each Chinaman's hat is directly across from the opening doors in the cupola. My old homemade hood was light enough that my then 4 yr old grand daughter could crank the winch to lift the unit, but my new SS hood made by Thor is enough harder to lift that it too maybe 4X the effort to crank. I'm planning to add a pulley on the winch cable to reduce the effort to about half.

Mine is complicated too. Works well. Hood stays level during raising and lowering. This is a 4x10 evaporator, hood is approx. 4x7'.
Hope this helps give you some ideas.
Parts:
Lag bolts and lag hooks for attaching pulleys to rafters, etc.
4 single pulley blocks.
3 double pulley blocks.
Two lengths of stainless cable.
4 cable U-bolts.
4 Small stainless shackles for attaching cables to steam hood.
Boat winch with cable and hook.
Attachment points at 4 corners of hood:

Cables follow the rafters to double pulleys:

Cables from front of hood and rear of hood turn loop around a boat winch hook. Winch is mounted on a stud. There are basically two lengths of cable. One to the front corners and one to the rear corners of the steam hood. For leveling, adjustments were made at the four corner attachment points:

While it's not necessary, I terminated each of my cable lines at the hood with a turn buckle, I can easily get the tensions balanced on all 6 of my lift lines. Once set, they don't need any further attention.
