I was looking to use 3\16 tubing this year but wanted to use left over 5\16 for my drops. Do they make a "t" that makes this possible? Looked at Bascom's but didn't know if they have what I'm looking for. Maker and part number would be greatly appreciated. That is if they make such a fitting.

They don't make a t, but they do make a 5/16"-3/16" reducer if you want to use 5/16" for the drops.

Asknupp, they have spouts for 3/16 tubing now, this eliminates the need for a reducer which saves money and prevents a possible leak spot.

Last year, I used 5/16" drops into 3/16" lines. I used a 3/16 x 3/16 x 3/16 T and put a short piece of 3/16 on one side of the T then pushed 5/16 over that for my drops. Worked quite well.

I put up least 400 taps on 3/16" this year and I used a 8" piece of 3/16 and then went with a 3/16 to 5/16 connector and then 5/16" above that. This was so I can use check valves. I would have rather just stayed with 3/16" and used the spouts for 3/16, but you can't use check valves like that. I hope to convert over most of the other 600 taps to 3/16" over the next 2 to 3 years and I may try a couple hundred of just 3/16" and put a new 3/16" spout on them every year so I can compare to the check valves.

I heard CDL carries 3/16 saddles. We are new to Mapletrader and a little unsure about posting. I am thinking of putting 3/16 tubing up this year and I was told that the 3/16 tap closest to the mainline needs to be a minimum of 30 feet above the mainline on each lateral in order to obtain proper vacuum. Any info someone may have would be greatly appreciated I have read the recent Maple News article also. Have a good season!

You will get some vacuum if there are taps below the 30' mark. but get too low and the tree could potentially intake sap rather than put out.
