Just wondering how everyone fared with the ice storm. My sugarbush escaped any damage. I had ice just beginning when the temps rose just enough to keep it from increasing. It sure can be nasty and cause major devistation in the woods. I just hope that if anybody had damage they are still able to recover in time to boil.
I remember about 10 years ago in N.E. the ice storm took out beautiful maple trees and some bushes where ruined.

our sugar bush is fine. One huge branch of an old maple fell in my Mother in-laws back yard. She has been asking me to drop it for years but there used to be a power line running through it so I didn't really want to. That is no longer a problem.

Lost some branches off my big maples. Planted some little guys last spring, they look like sheppards canes, not sure if the little fellers will make it. Maybe should have staked them higher.
