I am in the process of building my own releaser and thought I had it all worked out. Laying in bed this morning (isn't that what you all think about first thing)I realized the float switch i was going to use is only for 110 where my pump motor is only 220. I was looking at getting the http://www.amazon.com/HC6000-Hi-Lo-Controller-Float-Switch/dp/B006AU4L4U HC6000 HI-LO pump switch and was wondering if anyone knew of a good alternative for 220V. I liked the fact I could adjust to where they were located as well as use it on a bigger releaser in the future if needed. What are all the options out there on float switchs. Not opposed to using something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/200mm-304-stainless-steel-Liquid-float-switch-water-level-sensor-Double-ball-/141090768624?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20d9aa46f0 but want to check my options first.

Bring your 220 into a distribution box and "steal" 110 off of one leg for your float switch.

I would use a 110 volt relay that would switch 220.

I have used this one on my chicken scalder for years no problem. I also have one on my ro water heater.

I'm not sure how you would steal 110 and power the 220 at the same time. The 110 would have the power but then would have to give 220 to power the pump. Is there a way to do that being the pump power piggy backs the sensor? I can see it being done possibly if it was the other way around.

I think he is saying to switch one side of the 220. I like both hot legs to be off when I don't want a motor running. That is why I like the mouser relay. It will shut off both legs.

Are you using a motor starter to start pump?

Its a pump off an old releaser in a dairy barn setup and no I wasn't figuring on using a starter. Could that be used as a transformer in some way?

The float you have listed from eBay only specs to be used in a control circuit. Not sure how you are building releaser. Some pics may help to get better suggestions. Bernard and lapierre both use square d pressure switches modified to turn pumps on and off maybe that would work in your build.

O.K. I just found a homemade releaser much like mine. Only difference is mine is an external pump, meaning outside the releaser like a dairy style. tmeeeh http://mapletrader.com/community/showthread.php?17317-Homemade-Releaser&highlight=homemade+releaser posted a schematic so that people with a knowledge of electricity could probably understand it easily. He is using just what I would like to use in the same way, just different place for the pump. Now I know it can be done, just clueless as to how the wiring all works. Think I need to study that scematic a while. Anyone with feed back that understands what is going on and can explain it to someone who is ignorant to electricity is welcome to try. Also I was going to run this all on a generator for this season, shouldn't make any difference right.

you want a double latching relay for your upper and lower switches. here's a couple relay videos.

That was a help, thanks. Task still seems a little big at the moment, the rest seemed easy, I was not figuring the electrical to be so much.
