What is the distance between the flues in a flue pan?

It varries. I believe the average is 3/4".

I think mine is closer to an inch but as psparr said it will vary from one manufactuer to another. What you have to remember is the number of flues you can effectively have is in direct relationship to the fire traveling underneath them. Put to many flues and or too close together and it will restrict the volume of hot gasses that can travel through the flues to transfer the heat

The pan I am planning on making, the flues will be 1 inch wide and 1 inch in between the flues and am planning on having the flues 11 inches deep with the outside flues 6 inches in from each side, pan will be 8 foot long. I suppose with the flues that close it might restrict air/heat flow now that you mention it Brookledge.

On the sap side mine are 5/8", on the smoke side they are 1.125". This is on a raised flue style, but I think drop flue is about the same
