I was going to buid a 3X6 with 2 Pans, But opted to buid a 3X3 with just the one decent pan.

Oil tanks are 24" wide By 48" tall.

my questio is, Is the tank too shallow to build it on its side instead of standing up. This would make alot less work, as i won't have to flare the top our 6"s each side.
I plan on installing a oil burner, is there enough room betwee the pan and bottom for it to work. There would be roughly 24 inches between the bottom of the pan to the bottom of the arch.

Thanks

On my rig I have 12" from the top of the ceramic blanket to the bottom of the syrup pan and about 3.25" from the top of the blanket to the bottom of the flues on the raised flue section of my pan. :D

The bottom of your arch to the bottom of your front pan is 12"??

I thought I needed more room than that.

If that's the case I'll do it on its side, I think there's enough room anyways, but with the shallower depth it'll be easier to do.

Well the blanket is 2" thick so there is really 14" from the bottom of the arch to the pan.
